Award Criteria

We encourage all delegates and teachers to maintain an objective perspective regarding the awards. The main purpose of the CEFI Model United Nations is collaboration among delegations, which includes working together through diplomacy. There are no winners and certainly no losers in this process. We believe participation in the simulation is its own reward.

CEFIMUN has an established criteria for evaluating delegate performance. Delegations are rated according to their participation in every session. Each staff member has received training in evaluating delegate performance using the following standards:

  1. Country Representation: Accurate representation of the assigned country with economic, social, and political facts.

  2. Diplomatic Behavior: Delegates must show effective communication, attentive listening, empathy, and politeness.

  3. Active Participation: Delegate participation will be evaluated during regular sessions, crises, and caucusing.

  4. Proper use of the rules of procedure: Delegates must follow MUN rules. Delegates will not be permitted to interrupt sessions or the introduction of disruptive or inappropriate motions. Delegates with questions or concerns relating to MUN Procedure will be advised to approach the Chair for explanation.
